\r
25 <div align="left">I have enclosed a statement that I have prepared for court.
\r
26 This statement documents my wife's situation. I apologize for it's length
\r
27 however I have included various documents including medical records from
\r
28 Kaiser that clearly show that my wife, Olga DeFaria (AKA Olga Moffat), is
\r
29 troubled and in need of professional therapy. I hope this will help her case.
\r
30 I also briefly describe how the impact of her possible removal from the US
\r
31 would effect me.<br>
\r
33 If my wife is found removable then I understand that I can file for a waiver
\r
34 where I would need to prove that I, and my daughter, would experience extreme
\r
35 hardship if Olga is removed. Here are some of the thoughts that I have that
\r
36 may help the immigration court to see that such a hardship would be extreme
\r
39 <li>I would be separated from my wife.</li>
\r
40 <li>My career, 25 years in the field of computers, is not that developed
\r
41 in the Ukraine, thus it would be extremely difficult for me to obtain work
\r
42 in my profession.</li>
\r
43 <li>If I move to the Ukraine to be with my wife I would be separated from
\r
44 my ten year old daughter from a previous marriage as I do not have legal
\r
45 custody of her and her mother would never allow my daughter to travel to
\r
46 the Ukraine. Also note that my father had left me when I was ten years old,
\r
47 not to be found again for 18 years, and I promised myself that I would never
\r
48 desert my daughter.</li>
\r
49 <li>I do not speak Russian</li>
\r
50 <li>I own a 4 bedroom house, for which I paid handsomely at the height
\r
51 of the housing market, and would lose a lot of money being forced to sell
\r
53 <li>The average salary in the Ukraine is around 150 US$/month. Even if
\r
54 I would manage to find a job at say $200/month there I would be nowhere need
\r
55 the $800/month I am required to pay as child support.</li>
\r
56 <li>If I move to the Ukraine I would also have the additional burden of
\r
57 getting adequate medical and psychiatric help for Olga as her problems
\r
60 <li>I fear for my wife's safety should she be removed and I only travel
\r
61 to Ukraine when I can to visit her. She has been suicidal in the past (see
\r
62 Kaiser records) and she lacks adequate support from her family (also in the
\r
63 Kaiser records). <br>
